Panel Upgrade

Why Electrical Panel Installations and Upgrades

Upgrade from outdated 60 or 100 amp panels to modern 200 amp service. Licensed electricians serving NJ for 30+ years with code-compliant installations, clear estimates, and 24/7 emergency repairs.

The Core of Your Home's Power System

Your electrical service panel is where power enters your home and is distributed to every outlet, appliance, and fixture. The system includes the service riser connecting to utility lines, the meter tracking usage, grounding connections to water pipes and ground rods, and the main breaker or fuse panel.

Many New Jersey homes still run on 60 or 100 amp services installed decades ago. With today's demand from HVAC systems, kitchen appliances, electronics, EV chargers, and home technology, these older panels can't safely deliver the power modern households need. Upgrading your electrical service increases capacity, improves safety, and brings your home up to current code.

Why Upgrade to 200 Amp Service

Replacing an aging panel with a modern 200 amp breaker panel is a smart investment. It reduces the risk of electrical hazards commonly flagged in home inspection reports, supports new loads like electric vehicle chargers and upgraded lighting systems, and can increase your property's resale value.

An upgraded electrical service gives you peace of mind knowing your system is safe, code-compliant, and ready for modern needs.

Common questions

How do I know if I need a panel upgrade?+

Signs include frequent breaker trips, flickering lights under load, a panel with fuses instead of breakers, or a 60–100 amp service that can't support new appliances, HVAC, or an EV charger. A home inspection report will often flag outdated panels as a safety concern.

How long does a panel upgrade take?+

Most residential panel upgrades are completed in one day. The utility will disconnect and reconnect service, and a municipal inspection is required before final power-on. We coordinate all steps to minimize downtime.

Will my homeowner's insurance cover an upgrade?+

Insurance typically doesn't pay for upgrades, but some carriers offer discounts or require panel replacement to renew coverage on older homes. An upgraded panel can also lower your premium and improve insurability.
